ABOUT
Homes chosen for their light.
Ambra is a small agency with a shortlist, not a catalogue. Six agents, four countries and one method: show a home at the hour it looks best.
THE STORY
We started with one question: why do we show houses at the wrong hour?
Sophie Carter founded Ambra in Los Angeles in 2016 after ten years at a large brokerage. Every listing there was photographed at noon, shown at whatever hour the calendar allowed and priced by someone who had never stood in the kitchen.
Ambra does the opposite. We take fewer homes, we learn the hour each one looks best, and we show it then, to a shortlist of buyers we already know. The person who sets the number is the person who shows the house.
Today we are six agents in two offices, Los Angeles and New York, working across nine areas in four countries. Most of the homes we place never reach the public listing.
